Better performance with a new approach for teaching the Junior Olympic women's compulsory routines
Gymnastic coaches struggle with finding ways to help their athletes compete at
the highest levels and perform their best at the key moments in competition.
Too often, performance in the meet does not match expectations. The gymnasts,
who have worked so hard, 'Pop the Clutch', -- they don't replicate their exceptional
practice routines.
Anell Roberts, a gymnastic coach with 23 years of experience, has an answer
to 'popping the clutch' syndrome. It's called TAGteach. TAGteach works by providing
instantaneous, objective feedback to gymnasts in a way that greatly increases
concentration and reduces fear. Kids learn much quicker. They learn much more
confidently. They perform with less anxiety. The result? Astoundingly better,
more consistent performances.
In this manual, Roberts details how the TAGteach method can be applied to
training for the Junior Olympic Women's Compulsory routine. The book provide
the step-by-step 'tag points' for this important area of competition.
Gymnastic coaches who are interested in learning TAGteach will find the information
here invaluable for applying TAGteach with their students. The introduction
to the book by TAGteach co-founder Theresa McKeon, provides a concise overview
of the TAGteach process and how to apply it. Before fully applying TAGteach
with your students, coaches are encouraged to get certified in the TAGteach
method. This manual is not enough to learn all about TAGteach but if you want
to jump right in and get to work with your gymnasts, this manual will get you
on the floor, using TAGteach quickly.
